We are in 10 min break during final closing of the  trial. This was too long to tweet, but thought you all would be interested that during the lunch break, I cam upon Mr. Juror #8 looking down in wonderment through a second floor skywalk window at the bunches of TV cameras toiling away on the courthouse steps and plaza.

I asked him if during his time on the jury he was aware of all this attention?

He shook his head, not breaking eyes from the action below, no, no, he said.

Then he told me he was convinced the cameras below were for some other thing, not the  trial.

I turned to the woman with him, presumably his wife. I asked her if she had been aware? No! she exclaimed. "It's crazy!" she said, her eyes wide.

Then I saw Mr. Juror #8 get that panicky look in his face, the one where a person looks trapped by a media member, he may have recognize me from long weeks of seeing me there but his wife wouldn't. I didn't want to cause him any further discomfort or trouble, so I thanked them and walked away.

Many people have made remarks that it is not believable that the jurors have not been watching TV or the net on this case. Well, Juror #8 and his wife are pretty good actors, then.

Judge just came in. See me at @CamilleKimball on twitter for closing rebuttal by Juan Martinez.

  2. That is an absolute lie. I spoke with Ron's family and did all my own research including attending every day of over six months of trial. Where exactly where you during that trial? Not in that courtroom, I guarantee it. How do you know what was testified to or what was in the police reports? I am on extremely good terms with Ron's family and your comment offends me deeply. Writing is hard enough, writers should be helping each other and promoting each other, not making crazy attacks without giant stacks of files and interviews and notes, which I personally do have.
